Hemal is a Mumbai and New York City based filmmaker / editor for over a decade. She has edited films that have won one Oscar, three Emmys and seven Emmy nominations. Hemal has won an Emmy for outstanding editing and nominations for Independent Spirits Awards and Cinema Eye Award. Her recent feature documentary Among the Believers premiered at Tribeca Film Festival with rave reviews and was screened at over 80 film festivals, in 25 countries. It was shown theatrically in NY, LA, London and Italy. Released on PBS, the film screened at nine international TV stations, and Netflix Worldwide. The film screened at United Nations and US Department of State.

She has produced and edited over 50 award- winning shorts for Odyssey Networks. Hemal has a Masters in Journalism from University of Florida and a Masters in Business Administration from India’s premier business schools -- NMIMS.
